What will the first coaching session be like?

During the first hour coaching session, you will spend the first 30 minutes going over both shots you completed in Maya For Beginning Animators. You will begin learning the how and why behind the feedback you'll be given.

There really is no better way to learn animation than this!

The second 30 minutes will be spent mapping out a unique step-by-step path for you to take to become a professional animator in the shortest amount of time.

Are there any requirements to be coached?

Yes. You need to have completed or are in the process of completing Maya For Beginning Animators.

What happens during follow-up coaching sessions?

During any single hour of coaching, the hour is set aside for you and a professional animator to help you overcome any challenges you're facing that are preventing you from moving forward towards becoming an animator.

What is the end goal of animation coaching?

To privately show you exactly how to animate in the shortest amount of time possible. The end goal is to develop a professional animation "demo reel" that you will be able to use to get your first job.

What's a "demo reel"?

A demo reel is what recruiters at animation studios use to determine whether or not to give you an interview. It's a 30 second to 1 1/2 minute long video that shows animation you've done.

Can't I just do animations on my own and make my own reel?

You could but it's highly unlikely that you'll know exactly what to put on your first demo reel. You'll also be animating in the dark. Just because you make a demo reel doesn't mean it'll be good enough to get you hired at Pixar. This is what coaching is for. To help you create animation that's worthy to get you hired by a studio.

How many hours of coaching will I need to become a professional animator?

On average, we recommend a coaching session every 2 or 3 days to ensure you are making progress, to get feedback on your work and ask any questions that might come up.

How long you'll need coaching for depends on how quickly you'll learn and implement everything you're taught.

How much does coaching cost?

At the moment a single coaching session is $35 to spend an hour working 1-on-1 with a professional animator. *price is subject to change

Can I purchase coaching more than once?

Absolutely! If you find yourself in need of coaching more than once, simply purchase the coaching again.

How will the coaching happen?
